Rhythm and Blues diva Alicia Keys is heading to Cannes, but unlike other stars, she is not going to the coveted film festival. Instead, the singer is throwing a major boat party there.
The party is a serious power-schmooze affair where Alicia hopes to steal a march over her pop rival Christina Aguilera as they battle it out for the same major Hollywood role, reports The Sun.
The two singers have reportedly been short-listed to play the lead role in the movie, "5th Commandment" which is based on the "thou shalt not kill" clause of the Bible's Old Testament.
While Christina is reportedly confined to her recording studio in America where she is working on her new album, Alicia is making sure that she lands herself the role by inviting the makers of the film to her party.
A whole lot of famous Hollywood names, including Steven Spielberg and Brad Pitt, have been invited to the 10 million-pound bash.
"They are the only two names left on the list for this role. Alicia is determined to win the part so she's heading to Cannes to try to impress the big casting agents, directors and producers. She's spending a fortune," said a source. (ANI)
