Christina Aguilera raunched up her image after a series of unfaithful boyfriends and a nervous breakdown left her feeling "nutty".
The "Dirrty" singer transformed her look from a squeaky-clean pop princess to her current incarnation of highly-sexed lyrics and dance routines, because she tired of being projected as a teen-pop artist.
She explains, "The market changed. I was part of a huge teen pop explosion when I first came on the scene and I'm not knocking it - it was great. I was young and happy to be living my dream.
"But as the rollercoaster went on, I was becoming really unhappy the longer it was going on.
"I was working like a madwoman. I felt I was nutty."
