Britney Spears has hit back at pop rival Christina Aguilera, dubbing her former Mickey Mouse Club pal "rude".
Outspoken Aguilera criticised Spears for kissing Madonna at the MTV Video Music Awards, claiming the pop star needed "a gimmick" to help promote her new album 'In The Zone'.
Britney admits she's puzzled over the attack because Aguilera also kissed Madonna onstage - seconds after she did.
Speaking to magazine Maxim Blender, Aguilera says, "These people aren't artists, they're just performers - fake and superficial."
But Britney fires back, "But didn't she kiss her too?
"I don't want to say anything about her. She has an amazing voice, she's an amazing girl, but she says some things sometimes that are just kinda rude."
