Raunchy star Christina Aguilera has defied the critics who slam her for promoting a raunchy image, by insisting she's a "great role model" for youngsters.
The Dirrty singer accepts fans shouldn't necessarily mimic her style, but they should aspire to be like her - because her scantily-clad appearance is merely a representation of her true self, and believes those who criticise her are just "very closed minded".
She says, "I consider myself to be a great role model, but everyone has their own idea of what a role model is. When I was showing my navel some years ago, some people thought that was too much and that's so minor compared to a lot of the things that I've done now.
"But I'm a grown woman and I have a mind of my own. I'm not forcing anyone to dress or act like I do, but this is what I consider my art and my form of release and I think it's beautiful. People who are threatened by that are just very closed minded."
